Just like syphilis, there is another dangerous and evil sexually transmitted disease called gonorrhoea. Gonorrhoea happens to lustful and lecherous men and women, as a punishment to their inappropriate sexual behaviour. It is also a contagious disease and happens to those men and women who indulge in sexual activities with a person already suffering from this disease. Just like syphilis, it also does not happen to well mannered and well-behaved people.
Syphilis is mentioned in ancient Ayurveda text ‘ bhaav prakash' but gonorrhoea is not mentioned in any of the Ayurveda texts hence there is a belief that probably gonorrhoea disease did not exist in old and ancient times. Since in gonorrhoea, wound occurs inside the sexual organ, and puss flows from the wound, it is called ‘puymeh' or ‘ parma' and in English it is called gonorrhoea. In western countries, it is also called Clap. Here while giving description of gonorrhoea, we are also comparing it with syphilis and listing the difference between gonorrhoea and syphilis. Since gonorrhoea is not mentioned anywhere in Ayurveda, so we are giving this information based on modern medical science, experience, and opinions of the Ayurveda experts about this disease.
There are many patients of gonorrhoea all around the world. Free or open sexual behaviour is spread rapidly in western countries and still spreading in a fast pace. Its effects are now felt in eastern countries too hence sexual diseases are also spreading in that amount. Such an evil and dangerous sexual disease is gonorrhoea, which happens due to tiny bacteria called Gonococcus. Syphilis and gonorrhoea diseases are different so let us first discuss the difference between these two evil diseases.
